Should Christians Continue To Preach About Women's Virginity Before Marriage?

We have many Christian sisters and Christian brothers who are not virgins, some are awesome people. You might even see a decent-looking and committed Christian sister, and when you confirm, she is not a virgin. Should virginity still be preached or should we just go by love and move on? Again, does not being a virgin have side effect in marriage?

Still better than been a terrorist where the holy books commands its followers to kill infidels at will with the promise of 7 sharp virgins in the afterlife.. there is also a part that encourages u to drink camel urine once u notice u have any STDs or HIV

The way some Nigerian men cherish this virginity of a thing usually reminds me how primitive and ignorant we still are in this part of the world.

Now is it a bad thing for a woman to be a virgin till marriage? Absolutely not. As a man there is still something special and cute about knowing your wife kept herself all for you, but does a woman being a virgin automatically mean she will be a good wife, partner and mother? Absolutely not as well. In this regard character and compatibility is ALL that matters. Many virgin couples end up getting divorced due to incompatibility and many non-virgin couples go on to have blissful and successful marriages because they focused on the right criteria’s when picking their partners. In todays society it’s a bit unreasonable to expect anybody above the age of 21 to still be a virgin anyway, so why not just focus on the important things instead?

As regards to churches, that’s a different story. Most regions believe sex outside of marriage is a sin so they are just doing what’s expected of them by preaching against it. Although I think Nigerian preachers for whatever reason focus too much on it and sometimes go about it the wrong way. It should never be done in a way that makes a woman feel irredeemable or unmarriageable just because she’s not a virgin. I don’t think God considers fornication to be the most egregious sin of mankind or that he spends all his time thinking about who is sleeping with who as you may be led to believe If you go to some Nigerian churches.

There is no evidence in the Bible of God condemning a woman for losing her virginity but there is plenty evidence of Jesus being kind and friendly to prostitutes. So fornication should absolutely be discouraged by churches but not condemned or dwelled upon the way many do in this country.

It is a lie. I have an aunty who was a virgin when she got married. Her husband disvirgined her. But can you believe that within one year of marriage, the guy got another lady pregnant? My aunt was heartbroken, and she told my parents. (My parents are like her parents too). The man has left her to pay all the bills herself even though they both earn. The only bill he takes care of is the house rent. She takes care of everything else including school fees of the kids. Her experience in marriage for 7 years now has just been God’s grace sustaining them. Being a virgin doesn’t guarantee that your husband will respect you eternally. We can only pray and hope for the best. For information, if I choose to be a virgin or not, I’m doing it for myself and not because I want any man to respect me eternally.

Who virginity help with everything we are going through in diz world na virginity be some people problem.

Housemates are Christians. It's normal for the female ones to expose their breast to the world and also to have sex live on TV while family members watches at home. Regrettably and obviously, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is not worried about this trend of immorality, but they're worried about bishops that attended Sen. Bola Tinubu's event. Maybe these CAN people now know that rules like that do not apply anymore to this generation, times and modern era.

Who Virginity Epp?

To mock virgins, you would hear statements like this "Who Virginity Epp?" Virginity is beneficial to oneself and the society at large. 1: Messiah: Jesus Christ came into the world through a virgin. Virginity was part of the criteria for a 'vessel' that would bring Jesus into this world. You don't expect God to come through a body that has fornicated with 1,000 people, aborted battalions etc. 2: No STDs:Who are those transmitting STDs with reckless abandon? Your guess is as good as mine. If you abstain, you have no business with STDs. 3: Unwanted pregnancy: If you had abstained, you won't have been pregnant. You are pregnant, you called your boyfriend to inform him, he flees. You are on your own. Carry your headache alone. 4: Abortion: Sex results to pregnancy, and when the pregnancy is not needed, they kill the baby in the womb. Some people that abort when single, may even abort when married. The habit of abortion can continue in marriage. 5: No heartbreaks: Sex bonds, whether you do it with a prostitute or with your legally married partner. That's one of the reasons sex is for married people. If you are dating and there is sex involved, you would likely feel heartbroken when the relationship gets broken. Virgins don't feel heartbroken because they are not yoked to anyone. 6: Self-control: If you succeed to remain a virgin till marriage, it means you have mastered self-control. Those who have mastered self-control can hardly cheat at all when married. 7: Comparison: If you get married as a virgin, you won't compare anyone sexually to your spouse. You are content with any performance you see. Others would have to compare with more than 100 people they have slept with. Everyone male or female should try to be a virgin till marriage. If you disagree with my post, boldly tell your kids to choose promiscuity and let's see the outcome. As for me and my household, we have chosen chastity. And chastity starts from virginity. Have a lovely day.

We all know that the opposite, promiscuity is even worse.

However, few people know that even fairly low levels of premarital sex is associated with negative things like increased likelihood of cheating, increased likelihood of divorce, increased likelihood of single parenting and other similar stuff.

However, having sex only in commited relationships mitigates most of these and so I personally would be willing to make some exception for like long term relationships like courting.

Yes, it is great to be virgin before marriage. Aside the fact that it is a sin, which we know God forgives when you actually repent, there are consequences, and this is not just for Christians but everyone.

You could catch some disease fornicating. Recently, I met a guy, Kim (real name). He needed to work because he just had a heartbreak. His girlfriend cheated on him with his friend, and when he confronted her, she broke up with him and told their mutual friends that she broke up the relationship due to domestic violence. So, this led to many of their friends deserting Kim and he was depressed. Kim said she actually broke up with him because she knew he was never going to have sex with her again because he knew, and also told her, that the other guy has herpes. She will live with this disease and transmit it to the man she eventually marries, or to as many men as possible.

You could get pregnant, and pregnancy could disrupt your life if you are not married. Depending on your family and the society you live in, premarital pregnancy could ruin your life. Trying to have your cake after eating it by opting for abortion could lead to damaged womb or death, which is permanent.

Having experience with several men could make you not to enjoy your husband when you get married because you will always compare.

Yes, it is advisable to maintain virginity till marriage, both for men and women,

God is jealous. He is a jealous God and God will always forgive when you repent. Virginity or not, just make sure you do what makes you happy, do the right thing at the right time.

If Man's is the standard by which you live your idea of what it means to be Christian, then don't expect those doctrines and traditions which are to the benefit of man and his ego (even Libido) to go away anytime soon.

Your pastors and mogs are going to continue filling your gullible heads with lied to keep you from ever discovering and honoring God through obedience to His Truth.

Jesus Christ already made clear over 2000 years ago to those who truly love Him that such things including virginity delusions are meaningless in the Kingdom of God and so of absolutely no worth to anyone.

A girl who isn't a virgin does not deserve FULL BRIDE PRICE!

Most parents these days are very careless and irresponsible, especially mothers.

They ALWAYS know what the girls are up to but just decide to look away.

> A girl that's not working will be using expensive phones, clothes and jewelry and parents won't bother to query her...

> Children will be bringing expensive and strange things home and SENSELESS parents won't query them.

Sometimes, you can't even blame the wayward children (some of them are real BASTARDS) because their parents are even worse.

Fathers have "girlfriends"

Mothers have "manfriends"....

If your pride price is 100,000 and your body count is 10,

YOUR PARENTS SHOULD BE PAID 100,000/10 = 10,000.

Should Christians Continue To Preach About Women's Virginity Before Marriage?

Waiting for oloshos to disagree.

The Bible teaches chastity.

Sexual intercourse with someone you aren't married too (fornication) is a sinful act.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

[18]Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

[19]What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

[20]For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Galatians 5:19

[19]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

1 Thessalonians 4:3

[3]For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Marriage is what you do if you can't hold yourself.

1 Corinthians 7:2

[2]Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Conclusion: The standard is that a man or a woman has to be get married a virgin (without fornication).

For People who fell, there's need for total repentance. And going back to abstinence...
