Will I Be Able To Pass Through Nigerian Immigration At The Airport With An Expired Nigerian Passport And Leave One Week Later?

In the process of renewing my Nigerian passport - I am just lingering for a new one to come. Have to make a critical trip to Nigeria soon. I understand I can enter Nigeria fine on an expired passport. Because my new passport will not be issued yet, Can I then leave Nigeria if I show the authorities paperwork about it still being processed? Has anyone else done this? I can enter with a minor issue on an expired passport by sorting the immigration guys with a little cash. My main concern is leaving. I have already applied for a new Nigerian passport, have completed my appt at the embassy, and am awaiting delivery (therefore wouldn’t make sense to get a new passport while in Naija)

I have an expired Nigerian passport, too. I won't have to get a Nigerian visa with the new law.

You can fly into Nigeria with an expired passport, but you cannot fly out of Nigeria with an expired passport

Why not fly in/out with your still valid British passport?
Avoid Naija visa stress if you can

You can enter with an expired passport, but you need a valid passport to leave IDK if you can get a new passport in 1 week. But there is nothing money cannot do in Nigeria.

Some government employees take any dealings with their agency as a chance "do business out of your trouble" (swindling you out of your money). Just be careful. Their "1 week" can turn into 2, 4, 6, or more weeks without warning o.

Suppose you're a Nigerian citizen who can provide all the paperwork or is fluent in an indigenous dialect. In that case, you'll be able to renew your Nigerian passport, but at specific locations, you'll not receive it within a week. It might take two weeks or more.
