If Biafra Eventually Becomes An Actuality, What Happens To The Igbos In Other Territories Of Nigeria?

One of the reasons I oppose the secession of Biafra personally is that if that happens, the Igbo people in other parts of Nigeria would probably have a tough time handling the situation. Many people will take advantage of the hatred associated with secession to act out against the Igbo sub-population, whether it's hate crimes or actual legal and financial discrimination. There's probably no way the rest of the country would allow the Igbo to "have their cake and eat it" by both seceding and retaining commercial and civic rights that citizens have. I'm curious if any supporters can explain if this is a good outcome/side effect of independence or if they think this can only happen sometimes.
