it happened to me when I was in Nigeria, six months after I lost my banking job, police came looking for me that there was a petition that I do not have any known job but pays my rent and used my generator all the time. It was during IPOB vengeance on police stations, I paid them 50k to avoid becoming an IPOB member over night and being imprisoned.

nobody complained to Nigeria police they work with Uber etc.. So they went there on their own and use that lie to gain ground
