7 goals? 5 were penalties. Yes that is a record for the most in a world cup. So he scored 2 open play goals and 3 assists is nothing to write home about. He also missed another penalty! Still probably the best player, but these stats are hardly incredible. What is incredible is Argentina getting the most penalties in the history of the world cup. Many of them very dubious.
